The Project

The construction of Pinnacle began in early 2014 and Portside Wharf is already home to 300 people across its first four residential stages. All developed by Brookfield, these are called Promenade, Flare, Loft and Infinity.

Pinnacle has 16 levels of 162 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, terraced homes and penthouses. Some apartments stretch across two levels.

The $53 million complex includes a rooftop infinity pool, barbeque area and a gym. There is allocated parking with direct lift access to each level and facilities.

All apartments are fitted with a video intercom and entry to the building, lifts and parking is secure. There are provisions for pay TV and broadband internet access, and there are TV points in the living areas, bedrooms, and multi-purpose rooms.

Brookfield, formerly known as Multiplex in Australia, has been developing property here for more than 50 years. They have approximately AU$7 billion in residential assets under management globally.

Hutchinson Builders were behind the construction, with more than a century’s experience building in Brisbane and Australia.

Location:

Portside Wharf is a part of Brisbane’s largest renewal precinct, Northshore Hamilton, positioned on the north bank of the Brisbane River, 10km north of Brisbane’s CBD. Portside has quickly become one of Brisbane’s premier dining precincts with a number of restaurants across multiple price levels. Portside also features a cinema and a number f retail shops and groceriers.

Portside Wharf is also home to Brisbane’s major cruise ship terminal. Luxury liners frequently dock here, including P&O’s Aurora, which at 270 metres in length is one of the largest ships to dock in Brisbane. This does bring some congestion to the area for small periods of time and people embark/disembark.

Sometimes known as Hercules Street Park, this relatively small park is a short walk from Pinnacle and is is a great spot to unwind with a book or let the kids play. There is a large playground, a mini-road to ride bikes, an off-leash area for dogs, picnic tables and barbecues.

Northshore Hamilton also boasts the renowned Eat Street Markets and the Eat Street drive-in cinema, both of which have quickly become Brisbane favourites.

Neighbouring suburbs include Hendra, where you can find the heritage-listed Eagle Farm Racecourse, and Brisbane Airport (now dubbed a suburb) which also features an extensive retail precinct, the DFO. If you want to escape for the weekend you can fly out of Brisbane’s domestic and international airport terminals, which are only 5km away. Living so close to the airport, low flying planes frequent the sky above, so you should expect some air aircraft noise.

You can find a number of esteemed primary and secondary schools in the area. The closest is Hamilton State School which is only 1km away. Other primary schools in the vicinity are St Agatha’s Catholic Primary School, Ascot State Primary School and Hendra State Primary School.

There are a number of private girl’s schools nearby including Clayfield College, St Rita’s College and St Margaret’s Anglican Girls’ School.

If you’re looking for a quiet space to read or study, Hamilton Library is located on Racecourse Road within the heritage listed Hamilton Town Hall. Northshore Hamilton is also set to receive a 25 metre community pool in the coming years.

Hopping aboard the CityCat is the easiest way to get into the city. Leaving from Bretts Wharf CityCat terminal, 800m from Portside Wharf, it will take a 35-minute ferry ride to arrive at the Riverside terminal in the CBD.

Public transport from Hamilton includes buses, trains and of course, the ferry.

To take the bus into the city you will need to walk 400m to Kingsford Smith Drive at Remora Road and catch bus 302. This will get you to Adelaide Street in around 25 minutes.

A bus also leaves from outside Hamilton Recreation Reserve, on Remora Road, and travels up towards Pinkenba and Brisbane Airport.

The closest train station is at Doomben with trains leaving to the city every half hour. You can arrive at Central station in 23 minutes. Living in Hamilton isn’t the most convenient option for students or staff attending Brisbane’s major tertiary institutions. Finding your way to The University of Queensland will take a transfer. By bus it is about an hour commute in total however it is only a 25-minute drive if you have your own transport. To get to QUT you can take the 302 to Adelaide Street near George Street and walk the 850m to the Garden Point campus.

Quality/Finishes

The five-star Pinnacle at Portside offers luxurious finishes.

Recessed down-lighting creates contemporary ambience, quality wool carpet welcomes you home and floor-to-ceiling windows let in light, capture the extensive views and let the river breeze flow through interior spaces.

The kitchen has ducted air conditioning. Benchtops are stone and cupboards are timber veneer. Appliances are by Miele, including a dishwasher, fridge-freezer with ice maker, coffee machine and microwave, all of which are integrated. There is also a warming drawer and steamer.

Bathrooms are finished with full-height tiles and the vanity has a stone top and splashback. The shower features a frameless screen. The master ensuite features a freestanding bath.

There were two colour schemes for the Pinnacle apartments, terraced homes and penthouses: ‘Elegantly neutral’ and Dramatically dark’. As the building is now finished you will not be able to select alternate colour schemes. Balconies feature natural stone flooring and are fitted with power and water for outdoor entertaining.

There is an abundance of storage throughout all apartments, terraced homes and penthouses.
