Stanhill is a new off-the-plan apartment development on the Gold Coast’s, much sought-after, Chevron Island. Chevron Island is currently going through urban regeneration due to the ongoing development of the Home of the Arts (HOTA). Chevron Island may have technically reached residential capacity, but it is still evolving, which the addition of the new Stanhill apartments has proven. The project sits on a 1,639 sqm site on the corner of Stanhill Drive and Weemala Street and offers two and three-bedroom apartments. The 61 new apartments for sale at Stanhill will be spread over nine levels, and so far have been sold to a mix of owner-occupiers and investors.
Stanhill is a development considered to be part of the ‘future of Chevron Island’ by Council City Planning boss, Cameron Caldwell. Inspired by luxury 5-star hotels, the Stanhill apartments have been designed by BDA Architects, with a focus on providing a resort-style home through both the apartments themselves and the amenities on offer.
There are 61 two and three-bedroom apartments for sale over the nine-storey building, and several different floor plans, which means that there is an apartment design to suit all types f buyer. The Stanhill apartments are priced from $499,000 to $799,000. Each floorplan is designed to make the most of the views available with floor-to-ceiling windows, which also allows more light into the apartments — something that is always desirable when you move to a new apartment in the Sunshine State! The kitchens are designed to be both functional and ideal for entertaining, which also makes the area much more liveable — a design theme repeated throughout the entire building.
Construction for Stanhill apartments in Chevron Island officially began on 4 December 2018, which means the project is running on schedule. With the green bridge between Chevron Island and the HOTA underway as well, the area is certainly changing quickly.
We love…
But remember that…
As construction has started, there is no display suite on-site. Potential buyers should instead make an appointment with Marquee. They will be able to show potential buyers the type of apartment that they are known for.
Sitting a few minutes away from both the beach and the ever-growing Home of the Arts (HOTA), the Stanhill apartments are ideally placed for those who want to live in the heart of the Gold Coast without being in the busier suburbs of Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. Due to the area undergoing urban gentrification, Chevron Island is expected to change quite a lot over the coming years, led primarily by the development of the HOTA and the growth occurring in Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Southport. The HOTA will soon boast a new $60 million art gallery as part of the planned $380 million cultural precincts. Early works are also underway to establish a green pedestrian and cycle bridge linking Chevron Island to HOTA.
There are two bus stops located less than a five-minute walk from Stanhill (two if you run!), and Thomas Drive, the main road through Chevron, connects residents to the rest of the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast Highway is at one end of Thomas Drive, allowing easy access to the greater Gold Coast area and Brisbane.
Stanhill Park is just down the road, and the larger Korman Family Park is only minutes away, which is ideal for those with families, or who just want to have a picnic in the park. There are also a number of schools close to Stanhill: primary schools include Surfers Paradise State School, Bellevue Park State School, and St. Kevin’s School, all within three kilometres. High schools and independent P-12 schools nearby include The Southport School, St. Hilda’s, and Keebra Park State High School.
With a focus on resort-style amenities, you can expect a new apartment at Stanhill to provide the full gamut of facilities for residents — which they do. Residents have access to a spa, gym, BBQ area on the terrace, and a private dining room on the rooftop level. The private dining room can double as a business lounge, meaning that it will host the full range of meeting, presentation and video conferencing facilities. This will all be operated through the Stanhill app, giving residents the ability to do what they want when they want to. There will also be a pool located on the ground level, so the only reason you’d leave Stanhill is for the nearby beaches — everything else is already there!
With 72 carparks available between all the new apartments, the five visitors parking spaces, and places for each resident to put their own bike if needed, Stanhill allows residents to travel however they like. It’s worth noting that there will be a building manager with an office on site, which is always a major plus, especially if you are buying a new apartment on the Gold Coast as a holiday home or to rent out long term.
Stanhill offers spacious off-the-plan apartments that are designed with owner-occupiers in mind. Designed to take after 5-star hotels, they are ideal for downsizers or professionals who want an escape away from the business side of the Gold Coast.
There are 61 two and three-bedroom apartments for sale in this new Gold Coast development. These are split across six three-bedroom apartments, seven two-bedroom plus MPR, and 48 two bedrooms. All of the apartments feature open-plan living areas, and the floor-to-ceiling glass throughout the apartment maximises the available space.
The bathrooms are designed to be both functional and luxurious, and their slightly larger-than-normal size definitely adds to this. Similarly, as we mentioned above, the kitchens are designed to be both functional and great for entertaining. As you can see in the photo below, the neutral colour scheme throughout the apartment really adds to this and will allow residents to stylise their apartment to their heart’s content.
The three-bedroom apartments all have two car parks each, with the rest of the two-bedroom apartments for sale at Stanhill having one each. This is ideal as Chevron Island can sometimes be a little busy, and street parking can be difficult to find during peak times.

As you’d expect for a building designed to provide a 5-star lifestyle from your apartment, Stanhill has some incredible finishes. As the finishes board below highlights, all of them are designed to blend together to create a neutral palette, which is always something that buyers appreciate, as it makes it easier to imagine — and then realise — your ideal interior styling.
The kitchens all include European appliances, and this, combined with the stone benchtops and the accent cupboards, make the area look like it will be a great place to be regularly. The bathrooms are inspired by luxury 5-star hotels, and so have a very clean aesthetic with is continued from the rest of the apartment. The showers have full glass screening and the large tiles in two colours give off a very ’boutique hotel’ vibe.
Quite a few buyers at Stanhill have been investors, which we believe is likely due to its location and the amenities offered at these off-the-plan apartments. Although traditionally a quieter suburb, Chevron Island is often associated with the nearby Surfers Paradise and the business district of Southport. With a Gross Rental Yield of 5.62% and an average rent of $400, Chevron Island as a suburb is ideal for investors who are looking for long-term renters.
Body corporate fees are expected to be $82 per week, which is about the average for the Gold Coast. Considering the quality of the amenities available to residents, it seems justified.
Earlier this year Bensons Property Group launched a $230 million, 40-storey tower marking the first high-rise on Chevron Island. There are several other apartment buildings proposed for Chevron Island, so you can expect there to be changes throughout the island as more off-the-plan developments are approved in the coming years.
Stanhill is being developed by the Brisbane-based Marquee Development Partners. Stanhill marks Marquee’s second Gold Coast development, following its Surfers Paradise-based Peninsular Residences.
