The Duke will be a 15-storey building of 125 apartments on Vulture Street, overlooking The Gabba, one of Queensland’s most famous sporting grounds. Due to suburb boundaries, it is considered a Kangaroo Point project rather than Woolloongabba which it borders.
Despite having a Kangaroo Point address, prices are competitive. Prices start from $385,000 for one bed, and the most expensive being $830,000 for three beds. One and two bedroom apartments come with one underground parking space, while three bedroom apartments have two parking spaces. Guest parking is off-street, which can be an issue due to traffic and Vulture Street being a one-way street.
The Duke has been designed with two rooftop terraces, one for residents to watch a game of cricket from home if they wish to, and the other faces out to the CBD. The terraces will be landscaped with a glass fencing, along with a rooftop pool and BBQ area that looks out toward the CBD.
Kitchens and bathrooms will have stone benchtops and splashbacks, with grey cabinetry. Floors will be timber in the living spaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows will let in as much natural light as possible, while providing suburban or city views.
Overall The Duke is targeted at Investors primarily, given the price point, size of the apartments and its location.
Schools are also within walking distance, as is the bus interchange that goes straight to the Myer Centre via South Brisbane. Some of the best schools in Brisbane are located a couple of minutes drive from the apartments, including Brisbane Girls Grammar School and All Hallow’s School for the girls, and Brisbane Grammar School, and Terrace (known formally as St Joseph’s College).
The Goodwill Bridge is only a short walk along Vulture street, and leads directly into QUT, while the Citycat nearby travels up and down the Brisbane River, providing access to most of Brisbane City.
