On top of this, the project is close to a number of great amenities, including a number of restaurants, shops, schools, and more practical amenities including bus and train stations, both of which are less than three minutes walk away.
Elysian Apartments is a new boutique apartment project located in Cannon Hill. Consisting of only 9 three-bedroom apartments, Elysian is a smaller development that has been designed to offer buyers a low-maintenance lifestyle, in a sought-after location. Elysian has been designed with a focus on improving the lifestyle of its residents, with high-quality, durable finishes used without, extra large balconies, and lovely communal facilities designed to promote community. There is also a focus on “horizontal living”, meaning that there are no stairs in each apartments and there will be lifts to all floors. This makes these apartments ideal for anyone who wants to simply breeze into their home at the end of every day.
Every apartment has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two car parks. All of the apartments have large balconies (averaging between a massive 21.88 – 30.37 sqm), which is ideal as it will allow residents to both enjoy the Queensland weather, and the city views each apartment has. The master bedroom will have a walk-in-wardrobe and ensuite bathroom, and sits on the opposite side of the apartment to the second and third bedrooms, offering a greater level of privacy. It’s worth noting that the master ensuite bathrooms have both a shower and a bath, which is a rarity at this price point.

Located at 914 Wynnum Road, Cannon Hill, Elysian sits in a great location for those who want to be able to access amenities quickly and easily. There are more than a few restaurants, shops and cafes along Wynnum Road, and one kilometre down the road residents will find the Cannon Hill Kmart Plaza, which is home to everything from a chemist to a vet. One kilometre in the opposite direction will put residents in the Morningside Central Shopping Centre. There are no less than seven doctors within five minutes drive, and the Cannon Hill Fire and Rescue Station is close by, along with a number of coffee shops. As you can see, you’re close to everything you could ever possibly need in this location. The apartments may receive some noise from the busy main road nearby, but not too much given that there is a buffer in the form of both the nearby parkland, and in the design of the building itself. There are a number of other parklands nearby, including Regent Park (four minutes down the road), Evergreen Place Park (five minutes drive away), and the Morningside Tennis Centre – which is part of a set of connected parklands that eventually become the Bulimba parklands (and Bulimba Creek, if you’re into kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding) – is only three minutes away.
The apartments are also in a great location when you consider transport options. Sitting along Wynnum Road is an advantage in this case as the city is less than 20 minutes away even in peak-hour traffic. If you make use of public transport, you’re also in luck. The Cannon Hill Train Station is just around the corner, therefore making it only five minutes walk from the apartments, and trains come every 15 minutes to and from the CBD. The proximity to a main road is also good because it means that residents have access to a number of bus stops, like the five within two to three minutes walk.
There are also a number of schools in the around Elysian. If you have younger children, Cannon Hill Community Kindergarten is three minutes away, while Tricia’s Playschool is two minutes around the corner from the development. Across the road residents will find Cannon Hill State School, which caters to children from Prep-Year 6. St. Oliver Plunkett Primary School is also close by, just past Cannon Hill State School. Cannon Hill Anglican College, also three minutes away, starts in Prep and runs up to Year 12.
Residents will have access to a rooftop recreation area, which is set to include a rather lovely BBQ area and dining space, and a lounge area. The rooftop recreation area will have views over the nearby parkland, toward the Brisbane CBD, which will make the area wonderful to use at night. The rooftop area will also include a small bathroom.
All of the apartments at Elysian have been designed so that residents can enjoy a low maintenance: the high-quality finishes are made to last through whatever is thrown at them, and look good while doing so. The apartments have all been designed to allow cross-flow breezes through, which is great for residents’ power bills as it means they don’t always need to keep the air-conditioning on. All of the apartments are also designed to be ‘liveable on one level’, meaning that they are optimised for those of us who don’t like stairs. Elysian Apartments are also pet-friendly.
As mentioned, all of the apartments at Elysian are designed to promote the well-being of residents – and with this in mind, every part of the apartments are due to be finished in high-quality, durable finishes that look good and are easy to clean. A cohesive design has been chosen to be represented across every apartment, with matching stone benchtops in the kitchens and bathrooms, and chrome fittings and stainless steel appliances chosen to match. As you can see in the renders below, even the small features have been thought of, including matching the overhead cupboard finishes to the floor. Small finishes such as this may not seem like a big deal, but in practice they can really make a massive change in how a space feels and is perceived by those who use it, so it’s fantastic to see this level of detail in a smaller, more boutique development (particularly at these prices!).
Cross-flow breezes are encouraged by the Elysian apartment designs, with the large open-plan spaces connecting to larger than normal balconies. The apartments sit on a slight hill, which will also help with this.
The master bedrooms all have walk-in wardrobes and ensuite bathrooms, while the second bathroom is located close to the second and third bedrooms in the apartment, providing a level of separation and privacy between these spaces. All of apartments have separate laundry areas, which is fantastic as it gives residents a space to store their laundry that is out of sight (and out of mind!). Open-plan kitchen and living areas in all of the apartments open onto the balconies, which, at between 21.88 and 30.37 sqm, are far larger than average.
There are two features we love at Elysian. The first is that every apartment has a proper entryway: this is rarely seen in apartments these days, but this means you don’t open up directly into a kitchen or living room, but rather a hallway, which gives residents space to relax when they come home and an area that helps keep the rest of the apartment clean because it is home to shoes/jackets/bags/etc. The second feature we love at Elysian is the balconies. As we covered above, these are far larger than average, making them fantastic outdoor spaces to entertain in (or simply just to enjoy your coffee from on the weekends). They’ve also been used in really creative ways to ensure that natural light reaches as much of the apartments as is possible, which we’re sure will be loved by the project’s future residents.
Elysian may make a great investment opportunity, particularly for those looking for long-term tenants. Not only is the suburb close to Morningside and Bulimba, but Cannon Hill is one of the ‘main’ eastern suburbs in Brisbane, with a well-known shopping centre and plenty of roads and public transport options bringing residents into the CBD in no time at all.
The rental appraisal for Elysian highlights that the apartments are expected to achieve between $600 — $650 per week, which is much higher than the Cannon Hill average of $520/week for three bedroom apartments. This means that investors can expect a good return on their apartment, especially when considering that most of the apartments are priced around the average mark for the neighbourhood.
