Banyo-Northgate neighbourhood plan: Community info session

The Brisbane City Council has worked with the communities of Northgate, Nundah, Virginia/Bindha, Banyo and Nudgee to develop a draft neighbourhood plan to shape these suburbs over the coming years. The draft plan is designed to help the area grow in a way that complements its character and encourages more local jobs, services and activities.

Now, residents get to have a say about the draft neighbourhood plan. After reviewing it, you can make a submission to the plan until 5:00 pm on Monday the 17th of December 2018. To aid in this process, the council is holding information sessions to help residents, business owners, community groups and industry professionals understand the ‘Draft Banyo-Northgate Neighbourhood Plan’ and how to make a submission. Read more about the draft neighbourhood plan here.

The sessions run for 10-15 minutes, and residents can speak face-to-face with the project team to learn more about how the draft plan may apply to your property, what it means for you and how to make a formal submission. Sessions are for general information only about the draft neighbourhood plan. No formal presentations will be given during these sessions. However, if you would like to arrive 15 minutes prior to your session, planners will be available for a short walk through of the draft neighbourhood plan. If you are looking for specific development advice you should arrange a pre-lodgement meeting (this is a charged service) or contact the Brisbane City Council about submitting a development application.
