Building commenced on Ascot’s new gem: Silk apartments

Demolition of the Silk apartments site on the corner of Racecourse Road and Beatrice Terrace is now complete, with construction scheduled to begin within the next few weeks. Managing Director of the build, George Callianiotis, says they’re expecting the construction of piling platforms to commence on the site within the next 30 days.

“Construction of the project will be complete 12 months after that, by September of 2019,” he said.

Blooming in the centre of the illustrious suburb of Ascot, Silk Apartments offer something a little different. With a boutique size of only 13 apartments and ground floor cafe’s, Silk Apartments have caused a stir with their tailor-made apartments. Buying off the plan at Silk means owners can create their dream apartment from floor to ceiling. With nine apartments left unclaimed, buyers are running out of time to custom build now construction has officially commenced.

The brainchild of Loucas Zahos Architects, the Silk apartments give buyers almost complete freedom of layout design and floor to ceiling finishing selections. While there is a recommended floor plan for each apartment, each buyer has the option to work with a Loucas Zahos architect to design the apartment to suit personal needs and requirements. As standard, each apartment features large outdoor living spaces with multiple balconies and fully-integrated kitchen appliances. Underneath the building will sit secure basement parking, with full-height lock up storage for each apartment. Construction on the secure basement will be the first thing to commence, with the car park and framework construction expected to be completed within the next three months.

It’s within this time that all apartment floor-plans will need to be finalised by buyers. Working within the parameters of designated wet areas and structural elements, each apartment will be completely different and geared entirely towards the need of the owner.

Making the development even more appealing is Racecourse Village that’s now open just around the corner from Silk. Along with cafes, Racecourse Village offers a premium Woolworths, with an expanded range of health foods, ready to eat meals, onsite butcher, baker and a ‘cheese cave’  featuring over 90 cheeses (!!).

“The most exciting part about this development is that it ties in with the redevelopment of Racecourse Road and Ascot. Bringing something luxurious back to one of Brisbane’s best premier suburbs is what this development is all about,” said George Callianiotis.
