UPDATE JUNE 2018: CONSTRUCTION IS NOW COMPLETE. APARTMENTS AVAILABLE FROM $382,000.
Citro is a 106-apartment project in West End, with one (1) or two (2) bedroom apartments starting from $369,000. Located on 83 Victoria Street, just off Montague Road, with views of both the Brisbane River to the west, and the CBD to the north. Citro aims to allow residents a new take on life in West End, with several resident amenities and the location making it the ideal first apartment.
Below the new apartments are three levels of secure parking, with one space per apartment. There are 27 visitor parking spaces, which helps as street parking is often difficult in West End.
Citro has a communal ‘Sky Terrace’ on the roof, with an outdoor cinema, pool, and BBQ area. This makes a great social space with panoramic views of Brisbane City, but views may be obstructed by further development of Light + Co, a neighbouring project.
The apartments feature white walls and cabinetry, with light timber finishes. Buyers have the choice of timber or tile flooring, which is rather nice and allows buyers to make their apartments feel more customisable. As the below example floor plan shows, the apartments are designed with open-plan living in the main areas of the house in mind. This allows residents to both open the doors to the balcony and allow a breeze through the apartment, and to entertain easily in the mixed balcony/indoor area. The kitchen is also of a rather nice size.
The main bedroom has its own walk-in-wardrobe, and ensuite, which is a rather nice touch. This essentially leaves the other bathroom to those using the second bedroom and guests.
The location is the real strength of Citro. Davies Path is within walking distance, along with the Riverside Path, and it is around the corner from the local ALDI supermarket. There are several schools close by, such as West End State School, and Brisbane State High School, only 8 minutes walk away. Both the Queensland University of Technology and University of Queensland (known as QUT and UQ, respectively) are within 20 minutes drive of Citro, making this the perfect apartment for those completing their degree, or planning on doing a new one.
Public transport is not in short supply around Citro either! A two minute walk around the corner will take you to your closest bus station, and there’s another two on Montague Road less than five minutes walk away. There aren’t any train stations close by, but given how many bus stop there are within a ten-minute walking distance (there are nine!), you shouldn’t find it hard to go to work or where ever you need to be.
Montague Road is full of small businesses and industrial buildings, which makes it a village-sized employment hub. The 192 bus also stops nearby, and goes straight to the city via the Cultural Centre.
Citro is also surrounded by plenty of competition in the apartment market, with the likes of Soko, Muse, and Sorrento to name a few.
Weekly body corporates are $61-$67 per week, and rental appraisal ranging from $390-$570 per week.
