The Project

Natura is a new apartment project located in the beachfront suburb of Burleigh Heads on Queensland’s Gold Coast. Natura sits on the beachfront, separated from the water by only The Esplanade and parkland. With only 33 apartments over 17 levels, each Natura apartment has 180-degree views over the surrounding area including the ocean, Gold Coast skyline and hinterland. As you may have guessed, there are only two apartments per storey in Natura, meaning residents will only ever have one neighbour.

The Natura apartments have a very ‘natural’ design throughout. The external facade is designed to pay homage to the surrounding skyline and the Bureligh Heads landscape, which is evident in the building’s curved edges. Undulating screening also moves up the facade of the building, to mimic the movement of waves on the nearby beaches. Abundant greenery will also be included, which helps to both soften the exterior and provide environmental benefits.

All of the apartments are finished to an extremely high quality. For example, Gaggenau appliances have been used in the kitchen, and Selenis marble has been used throughout the spaces. All of the apartments are a sizable 211 sqm, which makes the open-plan living spaces feel even larger than they already are.

Construction update

The Location

Natura is located at 112 The Esplanade, Burleigh Heads, and is separated from the beach by only a road and a parkland, giving residents views that cannot be built out. The apartments are in the ideal location for people who like to get out and about: some of the suburb’s best restaurants, cafes and shops are all within walking distance of the apartments, and the parkland across the road connects to the Burleigh Head National Park, famous for it’s beautiful views over the nearby beaches.

Burleigh Heads is a great medium between the bustling and busy Surfers Paradise and the quieter beachfront suburbs of Tugan and Palm Beach. It is an area of the Gold Coast which has historically been made up of predominantly locals and domestic holidaymakers that have holidayed at Burleigh Heads year after year. This is reflected in the quality of the restaurants nearby. Restaurant Labart is one of the most highly rated French bistros on the Gold Coast, and it’s only 10 minutes walk from the apartments. If you’re after something a bit different, residents will be pleased to find out that Mediterranean-style tapas restaurants, and authentic Italian and Vietnamese restaurants are all within five minutes drive. The Paddock Bakery — another local favourite, for its coffees and great food — is similarly close by, and there is a Coles and an Aldi just 1.5 kilometres up the road.

Using the Gold Coast Highway, you can be in Broadbeach within nine minutes. Brisbane is about an hour and ten minutes drive away, and Byron Bay is the same distance in the other direction. If you have to fly for work or leisure, it’s good to know that the airport is less than 20 minutes away. There are great public transport options throughout the suburb, which are only set to get better when the Gold Coast Light Rail stage 3A opens in 2023. This major piece of infrastructure will connect residents to the rest of the Gold Coast much more quickly, and is set to begin construction in early 2021.

Natura is located close to several schools, including primary (Prep – Year 6) schools such as Burleigh Heads State SchoolMiami State SchoolMarymount Primary School, and Varsity College. Secondary schools close by include Miami State High SchoolMarymount CollegeVarsity CollegeSt. Andrew’s Lutheran College and Merrimac State High School.

Communal Facilities

Residents will have access to a number of facilities, all of which have been designed to enhance wellness. To this end, there will be a resident’s-only pool, outdoor dining area and a dedicated ‘wellness space’, which will be home to infrared saunas, meditation chairs with guided breathing and exercises, full-body scanning recovery chairs and a private studio for residents to workout in. There is also a reflexology pool for resident’s use, which is sure to bring health benefits and be a great conversation starter!

Apartment Details

To say that the apartments at Natura are high-quality would be a slight understatement. This is apparent in the inclusions and in the floorplans alike: if you note nothing else from the renders of Natura below, take away the fact that they are definitely indicative of how high-quality the apartments will be. The interiors have been designed to play off of the Burleigh Heads landscape, which is represented in the neutral finishes throughout and the inclusion of natural materials where possible, such as natural stone (Selenis marble, from Artedomus) and travertine. The landscape is also seen in the curved edges of the kitchen bench and ensuite vanity, similar to sea-worn rocks.

The apartments are priced from $1,649,000.

Quality & Finishes

As we mentioned, Natura is set to include finishes of an extremely high quality.

All of the apartments have Earp Bros tiles on the floor (flooring that looks good, is long lasting and is easy to clean is a must in homes near the beach, and Earp Bros are known for delivering on all three of these) and double glazed windows. The open-plan kitchen, living and dining area makes full use of these floor-to-ceiling windows, providing expansive views and maximising the amount of natural light let in. Sliding doors on the balcony extend the space even further, which is ideal if you live so close to the beach: residents can enjoy relaxing dinners overlooking the ocean, or simply keep the doors open to ensure ocean breezes throughout the apartments.

The kitchen is certainly worth mentioning in detail. Featuring a natural stone island, the kitchen has been designed with cooks and entertainers alike in mind. This is obvious in high-quality appliances (everything from the stove top to the integrated microwave is Gaggenau), which will suit everyone from the amateur to the professional cook. The kitchen also has a large butler’s pantry and high-quality joinery (and there’s also a wine cellar, so you can keep the good stuff in great condition).

The master bedroom ensuite is also finished to a high standard. Designed to emulate a hotel bathroom, the ensuite has a double vanity with draws hidden behind stone drawer fronts. The standout feature of the bathroom is the freestanding bathtub, which will sit next to a natural stone feature wall (which conceals the shower). Full height mirrors, handmade artisan wall lights and brushed nickel tapware (from Brodware) complete the space.

Floor Plans

Every apartment at Natura benefits from the direction of the building itself. The apartments are all quite long, allowing breezes coming off the nearby ocean to easily move throughout the space. All apartments are roughly 211 sqm in size, which is very large for a three-bedroom apartment — these are almost house-sized proportions.

As you can see in the floor plans below, every apartment has its own ‘sun lounge’. This is the area that the lifts open up onto when residents come home, creating a genuine entry space. An entry of this size is very unusual in apartments, and is indicative of the level of thought the developers have put into the design. The space looks out through a great expanse of windows which should bring exceptional levels of natural light into the entry.

All of the bedrooms are larger than normal, although none so much as the master bedroom. The master bedroom is separated from the other bedrooms by the ‘sun lounge’ discussed above. The master bedroom includes a rather expansive walk-in-wardrobe and ensuite bathroom, whilst still having a significant bedroom (for context, the master suite almost the size of the two other bedrooms plus their ensuites combined!). Each of the other bedrooms have their own ensuite bathroom and a built-in wardrobe.

As mentioned above, the apartments also have an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area that connects to the balcony. This area is the main ‘heart’ of the home, and as such there is a fourth bathroom close by, as well as a separate laundry room.

The Developer

Natura is being developed by Spyre Group. With over $300 million worth of luxury developments in Australia, Spyre Group are a key player throughout Queensland. As well as Natura, Spyre Group is also currently developing the high-tech beachfront apartments Elysian Broadbeach, and the boutique Maya in Kirra Beach. Spyre Group are well known for creating projects that are high quality and stand the test of time, and Natura is no different.
