The Brisbane City Council has unveiled plans for a new bikeway linking the Western Freeway bikeway, the Brisbane River Loop and the University of Queensland / St. Lucia bikeway.
A new bridge will be built on the western bank of the Brisbane River to the south west of the Indooroopilly road, rail and pedestrian bridges.
The plan also includes a second phase bridge which would then link the new phase 1 bridge and the existing pathways on the eastern side of the bride complex.
This addition will be welcomed by bike riders in the Indooroopilly, Chapel Hill and Kenmore suburbs as it makes the cycle connection now vastly safer and far more convenient.
