Infinity by Crown Group: Unique design and hotel-style amenities in Green Square

A recently completed apartment development in Zetland, Infinity may be one of the more controversial projects in the city currently. With a design that has been debated over since its unveiling in 2013 — despite receiving many awards — residents of the project bought into it for the hotel-like lifestyle and the unique perspective from the holes throughout the building.

  • 401 one, two and three-bedroom apartments priced from $
  • Located at 301 Botany Road, Zetland
  • Construction is complete, so residents can move in today
  • Compared to both a donut and a rollercoaster, Infinity has a unique design that aims to help integrate the surrounding Green Square and bring extra light and air into the building

The Project

Inifnity is a new apartment project located in Zetland. The recently completed development has a unique design, with curves throughout and a hole right through the middle of one side. During its construction, many compared it both a donut and a rollercoaster due to this. Despite the controversial design, the building completed construction in early 2019, and residents have been moving in since July of that year.

The landscaped tower was designed in order to allow more sunlight back into the Green Square library and public plaza with its cafes and restaurants, as a more traditional, straightforward building would end up casting them both into shadow. Such a large block would also have created a wind tunnel and turbulence at ground level, so the architect created an aerodynamic shape with a blend of two loops, terracing and level changes that would instead draw air into the courtyard and push it back through via natural ventilation.

The unique design means that there are a range of different floor plans throughout the development. Select one, two and three-bedroom configurations remain for sale, although a large majority of the building is now sold out. A large effort has been made to make the apartment development feel like a hotel, which is apparent in the amenities offered.
