Fabric Apartments, on 11 Gallagher Terrace, Kedron is just off Gympie Road, and a 15-minute drive to the CBD.
Kedron is a convenient suburb for drivers, with easy access to the Inner City Bypass, Airport Link Tunnel and the Clem7 Tunnel and close to one of Brisbane’s best shopping centres, Westfield Chermside.
Fabric Apartments, by The Semilan Group, offers 16 different one and two bedroom apartments across 4 floors, and a rooftop entertainment area.
An open plan living area opens out onto the street facing balcony, both of which are fully tiled. The small apartments at 71 m² are not large 2 bedroom apartments, however, the design will make it seem larger. A compromise for the size is the kitchen design, which doesn’t feature the traditional bench for preparation and sitting at.
The second floorplan type is larger and features a more traditional kitchen if that is what you prefer. We would recommend inspecting the completed units to determine which style you prefer as there are definitely pluses and minuses for both approaches.
The larger 2 bedroom apartments at 86 m² internally are a good size and probably reflect good value at this price point.
The main bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe leading to an ensuite. There is easy access to the second bathroom via the second bedroom.
Fabric apartments is fully air-conditioned with split systems, have a separate laundry and lift access from the secure basement parking to the shared rooftop.
2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartments start from $450,000. The top floor apartment is priced at $460,000.
Both the location and relaxed, low maintenance design are main points of Fabric Apartments, which is close to public transport, hospitals, schools and shopping centres, and 8km from the CBD.
The apartments are a street away from Bradbury Park, home to the Brisbane Netball Association and offers netball for the whole family all year round. The park is also next to the Chermside Bowls Club, where you can play lawn bowls, barefoot bowls, social bowls, darts, trivia and hold functions. At the other end of Bradbury Park, there are batting nets for cricket enthusiasts. There is also a playground for the kids, drinking fountains (for dogs and people), park benches and a barbecue area.
Westfield Chermside Shopping Centre, 1km away on Gympie Road, is the sixth largest shopping centre in Australia. There are more than 400 stores and a 16-screen Event cinema. Aldi Supermarket is only 600 metres north on Gympie Road, less than two minutes by car.
As well as the major shopping centres, Kedron and nearby Chermside have lots of smaller stores and boutiques for everything from choosing your wedding gown to picking up pet supplies. There are plenty of restaurants too.
Other neighbouring suburbs are Lutwyche, Nundah, Wooloowin, Stafford and Wavell Heights. Kedron’s population of around 8600 people (from 2011 Census) is young – with the average age at 34.
Local sporting clubs include Kedron FC, Kedron AFL Football Club, Kedron Wavell Hockey Club and the Kedron Indoor Sports facility too.
Kedron Park Apartments are definitely worth a look.
Prices start from $455,000 for a 2 bedroom apartments in a small, 9 apartment tower with only 3 apartments on each of its three levels.
The Semilan Group are the developer. They have been developing apartments for over 40 years.
