The Project

The project has 27 two bedroom and three bedroom apartments on offer, with 12 different floor plans to choose from.

The apartments are yet to start construction but the land has been cleared. Construction is expected to finish in 2017.

Gallagher on the Park is being developed by Ponsford Builders and developers. The family-owned business was established in 1993 and has won awards for nearly every one of its residential projects. It has a hands-on approach to building and developing, and a high regard for building a greener future by having 80 per cent of their entire lighting system using energy efficient products and using collected rainwater for gardens and landscaping. Their sustainable power use has been designed to achieve energy ratings of up to 9.5 stars. They are  members of the Urban Development Institute of Australia and the Queensland Master Builders Association.

Ceilings in the apartments will be 2.7 metres high, with kitchen cabinets reaching up to 2.4 metres high and they will be fitted with the bulkheads for extra storage which is a nice feature.

The full-length doors open onto either spacious balconies or courtyards – depending on which level you live on.

Courtyards will have timber dividing fences, ensuring privacy and security for ground-floor residents.

Apartments will have wall mounted air-conditioning in all bedrooms and living areas, except in apartments 502 and 504 which will have single-phase reverse-cycle ducted air-conditioning that is zoned in the living area and all bedrooms. Living rooms in every apartment will have ceiling fans.

Master bedrooms will have the option to mount a television opposite the bed so you can watch TV in bed if you choose to.

Prices for Gallagher on the Park start at $460,000 for a two bedroom apartment and go up to $685,000 for a three bedroom apartment.

Location

Gallagher on the Park is well located on 24 Gallagher Terrace in the suburb of Kedron, a 15 minute drive to Brisbane’s CBD. Brisbane Airport is a 10 minute drive via the Airport Link Tunnel. In fact, the Clem Jones M7 Tunnel, Inner City Bypass, Legacy Way Tunnel and the Airport Link Tunnel make it quick and easy to travel to any part of Brisbane from Kedron.

On Gympie Road, the nearest bus stops travelling north and south are at Boothby Street (stop 32), a four minute walk from Gallagher on the Park. There are no other public transport options for this area.

There are several schools within 3km of Gallagher on the Park. Wavell Heights State High School is only three minutes away by car and Wavell Heights State Primary School is four minutes. Padua Roman Catholic Boys College is a six minute drive. Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Primary School is three minutes away and Kedron Primary School is three minutes south of the apartments by car.

The Holy Spirit Private Hospital is within meters of the Prince Charles Hospital. So it would also take you only a four minute drive or a 20 minute walk from Gallagher on the Park. The Chermside Medical Centre is just four minutes north as well. There are numerous pharmacies located on Gympie Road.

The reason why the apartments are called Gallagher on the Park is because they are located on Gallagher Terrace which is right on Bradbury Park. This park is home to the Brisbane Netball Association and offers netball for the whole family all year round. The park is also next to the Chermside Bowls Club, where you can play lawn bowls, barefoot bowls, social bowls, darts, trivia and hold functions. At the other end of Bradbury Park, there are batting nets for cricket enthusiasts. There is also a playground for the kids, drinking fountains (for dogs and people), benches to sit on and a barbeque area. Basically, the park has great facilities for a nice day out with the family.

Westfield Chermside Shopping Centre, 1km away on Gympie Road, is the sixth largest shopping centre in Australia and is probably Brisbane’s premier shopping centre, with 409 stores and services in the centre, as well as a 16-screen complex Event Cinema, restaurants and bars.

Aldi Supermarket is also only 600 metres north on Gympie Road, less than two minutes drive away.

Communal Facilities

On the external of the building there will be a communal clothesline for all residents to use.

For residents, there is to be an intercom system in the entry lobby and the door to the lobby will be self-closed and have a keyed security lock.
