If you’re thinking about buying a new home on the Gold Coast (potentially making use of all of the grants currently on offer), choosing where to buy isn’t easy. After all, there are hundreds of projects – where do you even start your search?
In the three months to end of June, newly-launched and nearly completed development projects across the Gold Coast have been hot topics on the PropertyMash website, and for good reason: some of these projects are some of the best throughout Queensland. Here, we’ve bought together the projects everyone’s talking about, including apartments, land estates, and house and land projects. These projects are ranked by visitation on PropertyMash.com. These are the Gold Coast’s Top 9 most visited projects that are for sale on PropertyMash.com for the past 3 months.
The enigmatic Jewel is a three-tower development located on Old Burleigh Road in Surfers Paradise, resulting in it being the first beachfront resort to be built on the Gold Coast in 30 years. The three-tower development includes a three-level podium, a six-star hotel comprising 169 suites, and 512 one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Jewel is nearly complete, with some buyers expecting to move into their new homes within the next couple of months. Why is it enigmatic you might ask? Its colourful history is a story itself, but there is not denying the outstanding design of Jewel and its impressive beachfront location. A huge project, outstanding design and an unbeatable location means that everyone wants to know more about it, which is why it is our No 1 most visited project.
One-bedroom apartments start at $779,000. Two-bedroom apartments at Jewel start from $1.3 million and three-bedroom apartments at $3,988,000.
Mali Residences is a luxury apartment building in the northern end of Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast. The development is located only 100m from Pratten Park. Construction on Mali is underway and buyers can expect to move in early 2021. The apartments have both beach and park views and are generously sized with large balconies. Mali Residences is definitely geared towards owner-occupiers, with a lot of interest from downsizers.
Mali offers one-bedroom apartments from $465,000, two bedrooms + study from $755,000 and three bedrooms from $1,525,000.
A new land project located in Upper Coomera, Clarence Heights sits between an existing townhouse development and bushland, buffering residents from the noise of nearby Old Coach Road. All of the lots are ready to build on today.
The eight lots at Clarence Heights are priced from $344,900.
Sandbar Burleigh Heads is a building of 163 apartments over 26 floors, with a collection of two and three-bedroom apartments available. The Sandbar apartments have a contemporary feel and are designed to remind residents of a beach house. The three different colour schemes available — which we discuss more below in the Quality and Finishes section — add to this beach house feeling, with their cool, natural tones.
The two-bedroom apartments start from $515,000, and the three-bedroom plus family room apartments with ocean and Burleigh Headland views are available from $1,590,000.
The Star Residences is the first-ever opportunity to live in the heart of The Star Gold Coast Resort. The lower portion of the building will form the Dorsett Hotel, while the upper levels are reserved exclusively for long-term residents. Level 3 is home to an array of dining and retail offerings spaced out over 1589m². This promenade also provides direct connectivity to The Star Gold Coast. Across the 53 levels of the entire building, there are 423 one and two-bedroom apartments as well as 296 hotel suites (located from Level 7 to Level 19). There are separate lobbies for the hotel and the residential portions of the building. Tower 1 — also known as ‘The Residences’ — also has an exclusive porte-cochère area (think fancy car drop-off).
There are a number of new one and two-bedroom apartments for sale, with prices starting at $467,000 for the one-bedroom apartments and $668,500 for the two-bedroom apartments.
Koko Broadbeach is located at 12-14 Elizabeth Avenue, Broadbeach. Koko is a development of 99 apartments over 31 storeys, which includes a mix of two and three-bedroom apartments. Luna is a new boutique apartment development overlooking the ocean in Burleigh Heads. The eight full-floor residences have floor-to-ceiling windows which will allow residents to capitalise on those expansive views. The penthouse is dual-level, with its own private rooftop pool. Each apartment has three bedrooms, with all bedroom equipped with an ensuite bathroom. The large 261m² apartments will also feature a large study space which is perfect for those who work from home. The apartments also have their own individual dry bars, and customisable kitchens with a butler’s pantry — an ideal set up for any serious cooks or entertainers. The balconies also have integrated BBQ/outdoor kitchenette areas.
The eight three-bedroom apartments at Luna are priced from $3,900,000.
The Surrounds Helensvale offers 620 lots for sale as either an independent land purchase or purchase as a house and land packages. Ten different builders are working with the developers Villawood on homes at The Surrounds, to make sure buyers have as much choice as possible when it comes to building their dream home. There are several house and land packages available with multiple builders offering customised packages to suit each lot. Most homes offer four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a double garage, however, some of the larger blocks offer house and land packages with three bathrooms and five bedrooms, to accommodate for larger families or those that just crave more space.
Land at The Surrounds start from $349,900, while the majority of the complete house and land packages for sale in the current release are priced around $650,000.
A new apartment development in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, East Palm Beach is over 30% sold at the time of writing. The apartments come in a range of floor plans, and most have ocean or hinterland views. With open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas which are connected to balconies, the apartments are designed so that residents can make the most of the cross-breezes coming off the ocean. Buyers can choose between the ‘Coastal’ (light) or ‘Urban’ (dark) colour schemes for their apartment, although both are fairly neutral in their own ways. An inclusion we really like is the free-standing bath in the master bathroom — you rarely see this as standard and it shows the high quality design that has gone into these apartments.
The 33 two and three-bedroom apartments at East Palm Beach are priced from $539,900.
