“Play me a song about Sonata on Shakespeare” – corny, we know, but we just had to say it. The name of this project is that different and one would have to say unique. Sonata on Shakespeare sits amongst a group of residential developments in the leafy suburb of Coorparoo. Located on Shakespeare Street, Sonata is set back from all the hustle and bustle of Old Cleveland Road and is a genuinely quiet location.
With larger apartments and a quiet location in a well established suburb, we think Sonata on Shakespeare may have primarily appealed to owner occupiers.
Although a quiet location, Sonata has easy access to the City, Woolloongabba, Fortitude Valley and the Pacific Motorway via Old Cleveland Road which is only a block away.
The Developer wanted to sell to the purchasers the fantastic city views with the renders created prior to construction, and we would agree that the top levels should get generally unimpeded views. Perhaps you are a purchaser or tenant now living at Sonata? We would love a verification photo of this!
There were 32 unique floor plans that buyers had to choose from when the project was initially built. We believe that they were designed with owner-occupiers in mind.
The apartments have ducted air conditioning and ceiling fans in the living area and all bedrooms.
Prices for Sonata at the time of construction started from $379,000 for a two-bedroom apartment and go up to $643,500 for a three-bedroom apartment.
Sonata is on 46 Shakespeare Street Coorparoo – hence the name, just off Old Cleveland Road.
The CBD is a nine-minute drive on the Pacific Motorway and South Bank is only a 10-minute drive; both are easily accessible by public transport.
Coorparoo Square is located nearby on the site of Brisbane’s first Myer department store (before it was demolished in 2015). Here you have a retail complex including a 10-theatre Dendy cinema, an Aldi supermarket and other shops.
Woolworths and Coles supermarkets are right across from each other on Harries Road, just two minutes drive or a short walk from Sonata. There are also banks, gyms, medical and dental clinics nearby. The nearest major shopping centre is Westfield Carindale.
Coorparoo Bowls Club is a three minute drive away from Sonata on Shakespeare, offering a restaurant and bar, competitions for all ages, games of pool and social darts competitions.
Coorparoo is also home to the Eastern Suburbs Rugby League Football Club, at Langlands Park. The football club is a popular social venue for residents of Coorparoo. The Queensland and Australian Rugby League teams also use the park for training sessions, when playing games in Brisbane.
White Hills Reserve is a vast area of native bushland right near Coorparoo. The 14,000 hectares of parklands (including 7,500 hectares of bushland) is perfect for hiking and picnics and is a great place to get your daily exercise. There are also football and cricket fields. Wildlife in the reserve includes koalas, owls, turtles, echidnas and kingfishers. There is an off-lead area for dogs.
Neighbouring suburbs are Greenslopes, Camp Hill, East Brisbane, Norman Park, Morningside and Holland Park.
At Sonata, residents are able to enjoy the infinity pool and an entertainment area with barbecues. The stylish landscaping with feature lights in the gardens and a reflecting pond that reflects the architectural elements of the building.
Secure swipe cards give residents access to the lift and main entrance. There is secure basement parking with 10 extra visitor parks and an audio intercom system. For all of the cycle enthusiasts out there, Sonata also has bicycle storage in the carpark.
