Fivechester is a boutique development consisting of 26 two and three bedroom apartments. Fivechester is located in the Gold Coast suburb of Southport. Fivechester is located 4 km from the heart of Surfer’s Paradise and boasts views of either the canal, the Surfer’s Paradise skyline or the Gold Coast Hinterland.
The interior of the Fivechester focuses on open plan living with great natural light and cross ventilation. The entry to the balcony on all apartments is floor to ceiling sliding glass which allows natural light to filter in along with looking out at the view.
Fivechester consists of 24 x two (2) bedroom apartments and 2 x three bedroom apartments. The two bedroom apartments range from 84 m² – 97m², which are a good size for modern two bedroom apartments. The two bedroom apartments include air conditioning to the living room, built in wardrobes throughout all bedrooms, carpet to all bedrooms, high ceiling and a separate internal laundry. All apartments come with a balcony.
The three bedroom apartments range from 143m² to 145 m², which again is large compared to the market overall. The three bedroom apartments include all of the features that the two bedroom apartment has plus a separate room called a “study” that can be used as a smaller fourth bedroom, a balcony that wraps around the apartment and an island bench in the kitchen. There are only 2 three bedroom apartments available and both are located on the top floor and have views of the water, Surfer’s Paradise skyline and the Gold Coast Hinterland. The wrap around balcony, whilst not deep, is still a really big plus as it facilitates both a lot of natural light and allows cross ventilation, which is extremely important in the sub-tropical climate of the Gold Coast.
The layout of this development focuses on privacy with only 5 apartments per floor and on the 6th floor only three apartments, 2 of which are the three bedroom apartments. All apartments have 2.6 m high ceilings, which is higher than standard apartments, and are designed with open plan living to maximize livable space.
Body corporate fees for Fivechester are set to be quite low due to the low height and limited facilities. The body corporate fees are expected to be around $55.00 per week. Fivechester has estimated that the council and water rates combined are to be around $2,500.00 per year.
Fivechester is located at 5 Chester Terrace, Southport, hence the name Fivechester. Chester Terrace is a leafy street with a mixture of houses and apartment complexes. Chester Terrace can be accessed by Brighton Parade via a roundabout. Chester Terrace can also be accessed via Meron Street however, Meron Street can become quite busy during peak times.
Fivechester is located on the corner of Chester Terrace and Bauer Street. Directly behind Fivechester is another apartment complex, Eaton Mews. The only issue that may arise is with off street parking. Chester Terrace is quite a narrow street with a few apartment complexes which can limit the amount of street parking. Fivechester does offer secure basement parking, however. It is unknown at this moment how many parking spots are allocated per apartment.
Chester Terrace is located within walking distance to public transport services such as the Bauer street bus stop (100 m) which can take you through Southport through to Ashmore. If you were wanting to head to Surfers, Broadbeach or Nerang you would need to head to the Queen Street station which is 500m from Fivechester and the Gold Coast Light Rail- G: Link which takes you through to Surfers Paradise, Pacific Fair and Broadbeach (600 m). Fivechester is also situated fairly close to schools with two of the Gold Coast’s premier schools, The Southport School, and St Hilda’s School, and Gold Coast Tafe being only a 5 min drive away.
Chester Terrace is also situated quite close to medical facilities such as Sundale Medical Centre, which is open 7 days a week and has an after-hours doctors service.
Residences of Fivechester have many recreational activities located at their doorstep with the Broadwater Parklands, Gold Coast Rugby Union Football club and the Southport Library all within a 5-minute drive.
Australia Fair Shopping Centre has a range of retail stores including Coles, Woolworths, Event Cinemas, Kmart and many more. Australian Fair is going through a major redevelopment at the moment.
All in all, Fivechester is well connected to public transport, Schools, Medical facilities and local shops and services.
The kitchen in both the two and three bedroom apartments have 20 mm reconstituted stone bench tops with the splashback being fitted with LED lighting. The streamlined cabinetry throughout the kitchen is fitted with a soft close element, which means that draws and cupboards will not slam shut. The cabinetry is fitted with a timber look giving a neutral and natural tone throughout the kitchen. As well as having high-end Bosch stainless steel appliances installed in the kitchen the Fivechester also comes with a fitted high-end European range hood. The three bedroom apartments also include a timber look island bench.
The Living area includes large format 600 x 600 white gloss porcelain tiles throughout. The windows are quite large and the entrance to the balcony from the living room is floor to ceiling glass sliding door to capitalise on the views of the Nerang River, Gold Coast or the Gold Coast hinterland. All apartments are fitted with a Daikin split system reverse cycle air conditioner in the living area. It is unknown at this time where the compressors for the air conditioners sit, so this is something we recommend you look into..
All bedrooms are fitted with wool blend carpet as well as high-speed ceiling fans – which is great. All bedrooms are fitted with wardrobes with sliding mirrored and panelled doors. In some of the apartments, there is balcony access from the bedrooms.
The bathrooms and ensuites include floor to ceiling tiles with timber look cabinetry. The shower head is a “rain shower head”. The cabinetry in the bathroom mimics that of the kitchen with the soft closing element as does the toilet seat. Only the three bedroom apartments come with a bathtub as well as a shower in the main bathroom.
The Sundale apartments are somewhat similar to Fivechester when it comes to interiors. Both Fivechester and Sundale focus on a natural element with timber being a feature in the living, kitchen and bathrooms. The Sundale is a waterfront development with views of the water from most apartments. Sundale only has one and two bedroom apartments available with 502 apartments available in total. People who prefer a more private and less crowded building will prefer Fivechester. Privacy is a key point of Fivechester as there are only 5 apartments per floor and 3 apartments on the 6th floor.
