Jewel Birtinya Island is a new apartment project overlooking Lake Kawana. The two and three-bedroom apartments are just 5-minutes drive from the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and about 5 minutes from the beach. They are also close to a number of other amenities right at your doorstep including shops, restaurants and cafes.
All of the three-bedroom apartments have laundry rooms, along with extra linen cupboards close by (something anyone who has lived in an apartment will be excited by!). The three-bedroom apartments also have large study nooks, perfect for those who work remotely. Two-bedroom apartments have smaller laundry cupboards due to their size, along with the extra linen cupboards. The master bedrooms all have walk-in-wardrobes and ensuite bathrooms, and most have direct access to the balcony or courtyard. The apartments will be finished in neutral blacks, whites and greys throughout.
The penthouses on level eight are obvious standouts in the project. Extra-high ceilings (over three meters in some areas) along with larger balconies and kitchens mark these apartments as ideal for people who love bright spaces and entertaining friends and family.
Another project with water views is Mali Residences on the Gold Coast. Despite being on different coastlines, Mali Residences shares a number of similarities with Jewel. Both have water and parkland views, and both are geared toward owner-occupiers. However, Mali is in a league of its own, especially in terms of facilities and architectural design.
The design of the building is such a standout. Mali has been designed by BDA Architecture with a striking facade. The curved building sides are not only visually pleasing, emulating soft waves and dunes, but also serve a distinctive design purpose. The building’s shape helps to funnel breeze in through the building, keeping each apartment cool. Green walls above the foyer and overhanging the amenities level have been added with environmental consciousness in mind.

Located at 929 Central Boulevard, Birtinya, Jewel sits a street back from Lake Kawana Boulevard, one the main thoroughfares in the area. The apartments sit five minutes away from the Sunshine Coast University Hospital(s), which will be great for those who work there. There are a number of restaurants and cafes nearby, particularly close to the hospital grounds. Everything from sushi to a french patisserie can be found within 10-minutes drive. Other commonly accessed amenities, like grocery shops, are 4 minutes away (there is a Coles and an ALDI to choose between).
The closest schools, Kawana Waters State College — which has both primary and senior schools — are a 5-minute drive away. Both the primary and the secondary campus have a large focus on extra-curricular activities. Another nearby option is Pacific Lutheran College, a co-educational school which caters to children from Prep – Year 12. Of course, the Sunshine Coast University hospital campus is just a few minutes away, but tertiary students will find the main campus less than 15-minutes drive from Jewel.
